Description

Ghost Oreo Balls are a no-bake Halloween dessert made with crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and candy coating. Shaped into little ghosts and decorated with candy eyes or icing, they’re creepy-cute, festive, and always a crowd-pleaser at parties.

Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 12 oz white candy melts or almond bark

  • Black icing or candy eyes

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Mixture
• Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or rolling pin.
• Transfer crumbs to a mixing bowl and blend with softened cream cheese until smooth.

2️⃣ Shape the Ghosts
• Roll about 2 tablespoons of mixture into an oval ghost shape.
• Optionally, press into a silicone ghost mold for even forms.

3️⃣ Chill the Shapes
• Place shaped ghosts on a parchment-lined tray.
• Refrigerate for 1 hour or freeze for 20 minutes until firm.

4️⃣ Melt the Coating
• In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white candy melts in 15-second intervals, stirring between.
• Add 1 tsp coconut oil for smoother consistency.

5️⃣ Dip and Decorate
• Using a fork, dip each chilled ghost into melted coating, letting excess drip off.
• Place on parchment paper and immediately add candy eyes or decorate with black icing.

6️⃣ Set and Serve
• Allow coating to harden fully before serving.
• Keep refrigerated until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • For smoother coating, avoid over-chilling the ghosts before dipping.

  • Use gluten-free Oreos for a gluten-free version.

  • Dairy-free cream cheese works for a vegan-friendly adaptation.

  • Ghosts can be made up to 2 months ahead and frozen; thaw overnight in the fridge.

  • Kids can decorate their own ghosts with sprinkles, candy eyes, or icing smiles for a fun activity.
