  • Author: Joriel
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving (can scale up for batch recipes)
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

This refreshing, fruity twist on your favorite soda is the drink of the summer! Fresh strawberries, fizzy Sprite, and a sweet berry boost make it a crowd-pleasing cooler that’s as gorgeous as it is delicious. Serve it at your next BBQ, picnic, or holiday gathering and watch everyone ask for the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
    • 1 tbsp strawberry syrup or Kool-Aid drink enhancer
    • 1 can (12 oz) Sprite (or any lemon-lime soda), chilled
    • Ice cubes or crushed ice
    • Optional: Extra strawberries for garnish

Instructions

1️⃣ Muddle the Fruit:
In a tall glass or pitcher, mash the fresh strawberries with a spoon until they release their juices.

2️⃣ Add Syrup & Ice:
Pour in the strawberry syrup or drink enhancer and fill the glass with ice.

3️⃣ Pour & Stir:
Slowly add Sprite over the strawberries and ice. Stir gently to combine.

4️⃣ Garnish & Serve:
Top with a whole or heart-cut strawberry for garnish. Serve immediately while fizzy!

Notes

  • Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor and color. Look for berries that are fully red, firm, and fragrant—avoid underripe or bruised ones.

  • Strawberry syrup is preferred for sweetness and color, but grenadine or raspberry syrup works as a substitute. For a natural version, reduce fresh strawberries with sugar and water on the stovetop.

  • Crushed ice chills the drink faster and helps blend the syrup with the soda. If you don’t have crushed ice, pulse regular ice cubes in a blender.

  • Don’t add soda until serving to preserve the fizz. Premixing can cause the drink to go flat.

  • For a sugar-free version, use diet lemon-lime soda and sugar-free strawberry syrup or a fruit enhancer like Mio.

  • Make it kid-friendly or party-ready by serving in mason jars with colorful straws and fruit garnishes.

  • Easily scale this recipe up to make a pitcher for parties—just multiply the ingredients and add soda last.

  • Optional: Add fresh mint, lime wedges, or a sugared rim for extra flavor and presentation.
