This Lemon Garlic Thin Sliced Chicken Breast recipe is quick, zesty, and packed with flavor. Perfect for busy weeknights, this dish delivers juicy chicken in a buttery lemon-garlic sauce, all ready in under 20 minutes. Serve with rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables for a complete and satisfying meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thin sliced chicken breast

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tbsp)

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp dried parsley (or fresh)

  • Optional: ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Chicken
• Pat the thin sliced chicken breasts dry using a paper towel.
• Season both sides with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

2️⃣ Sauté the Garlic
• Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
• Add minced garlic and sauté for 30–45 seconds until fragrant, not browned.

3️⃣ Cook the Chicken
• Add chicken slices to the skillet in a single layer.
• Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
• Remove chicken and set aside on a plate.

4️⃣ Make the Lemon Sauce
• In the same pan, reduce heat to low. Add lemon juice, zest, and butter.
• Stir and simmer for 1–2 minutes to deglaze the pan and combine flavors.

5️⃣ Finish and Serve
• Return chicken to skillet. Spoon sauce over each piece.
• Simmer for another 1 minute.
• Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Bottled juice may taste bitter.

  • Thin slicing helps ensure even, fast cooking—avoid overcooking to keep it moist.

  • You can substitute butter with ghee or vegan butter for dietary needs.

  • Pair with basmati rice, roasted veggies, or garlic mashed potatoes.

  • Leftovers store well in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
