4️⃣ Top & Serve:
Finish with whipped cream, a fresh strawberry, and a straw. Serve immediately with a spoon!
Notes
-
Make Ahead Tip: You can prep the strawberry syrup up to 2 days in advance and store it in the fridge in a sealed jar. Assemble the float just before serving for the best fizz and texture.
-
Ice Cream Tip: Let ice cream sit at room temperature for 2–3 minutes before scooping. This softens it slightly and creates smoother, creamier float layers.
-
Strawberry Soda Swap: If you can’t find strawberry soda, use lemon-lime soda mixed with strawberry puree for a refreshing twist. Club soda with homemade syrup also works for a less-sweet version.
-
Vegan Option: Use dairy-free vanilla ice cream (like coconut or almond-based) and pair with naturally flavored strawberry soda for a fully plant-based treat.
-
Boozy Variation: For adults, add 1 oz of vanilla vodka or strawberry liqueur to each float. Stir gently before serving.
-
Presentation Tip: Serve in chilled glasses to keep the float colder longer. Garnish with fresh berries, mint leaves, or colored sugar on the rim for a party-ready look.
-
Serving Size: This recipe yields two full-sized floats, but can easily be doubled for a crowd or halved for a quick solo treat.
